Vintage Unused
Canada Post and Vintage Stamps?
I have these really pretty vintage Canadian stamps from the 50s and 60s and I want to use them to mail my wedding invitations. I heard that it is fine to use unused old stamps to mail a letter as long as they add up to the current postage rate. Postage is currently 57cents for a regular letter. I have to use approx 9 stamps per envelope (most of them are 5cents each) to get the correct postage! Will Canada Post still accept a letter with 9 stamps on it? Do I have to arrange them all in a row or can I fit them all around the corner?
I can't speak for Canada Post rules, but I don't imagine it's any different than the US Postal Service. As long as they don't cover up any part of the address (modern sorting equipment reads most addresses now, at least until they get to the carrier), you should be OK.
