Mauve Pearl
Describe the most hideous BM dress ever?
That you wore and have seen someone wear. Mine was mauve with a gathered, dropped waist that made everyone look bloated, with fake flowers stuck on one side with fake pearl stamens and a matching hairpiece. They were made by someone who was not a good seamstress. Can you say bonfire?

my friend was getting married and needed her dress altered. a friend of the bride suggested a seamstress that lived fairly far away from us, but she offered to alter the dress for a low price, and said she would make the bridesmaids dresses for $75 each.
we went to her little shop which she ran out of her basement, picked out a pattern that was surprisingly flattering on all of us, (simple halter top, and a nice A-line skirt) and she took our measurements. a few weeks later we tried on the dress and she did all sorts of tucking and pinning and from what we had seen the dresses were going to look great.
then about a week before the wedding i get a phone call from one of the other bridesmaids. they had gotten the dresses from the dressmaker, so we all rolled over to the brides apartment to try them on. there were five bridesmaids. mine was the only dress that fit properly but the seams were all crooked. one of the skirts was two sizes to big for anybody. another poor girl looked like she had a codpiece. the list goes on and on. the day before/of the wedding one of the bridesmaids mothers was running around with a needle and thread trying to fix everybody. the bridesmaid with the skirt that was too big had to be sewn into her dress. the codpiece bridesmaid had safety pins keeping everything in check as she went down the aisle. another bridesmaid had to have her skirt sewn up because somehow the skirt ended up being too long.
the bride was so pissed off as were all the bridesmaids. we spent $75 each on dresses that looked like they came out of a home-ec class for blind people.
