Why does lipstick have a reputation for being more mature than lipgloss?
I'm 16, and recently have gotten into using lipsticks from MAC. Mind you, I'm fair skinned so I don't wear really dark colors or anything. Whenever I'm on here I see younger girls being told to "just stick with lipgloss because they're too young for lipstick" Then they're told to keep it as natural as possible. I don't know about you, but for me lipstick looks way more subtle and natural than lipgloss, lipgloss looks way more shiny and thick. Many lipsticks are sheer nowadays. But people act like only adults should wear lipstick. I don't get it?
It's because way back when all the women had were lip stick, and moms and grandmas were the only ones who wore it, and now with lip gloss since it's clear most moms see that it is ok for there girls to wear it because lip gloss has always been worn by the older generation
I wear lip stick because I hate the way lip gloss feels and most of the time I get a your grandma had almost that exact color
It's more mature because girls weren't allowed to wear any makeup for such along time and some still feel like lipstick should be reserved for the more mature teens young adults moms and grandmas and thirteen and fourteen year olds should just stick with lip gloss
